I noticed that windows 8 had issues with some Alienware users here(I did not want it), and I suspect 10 will be a total fail (for my model)though I have not tried it. The reason is : Alienware recommends windows and comes with that as it's factory installed platform, but even as a high end windows platform computer the support Alienware is going to have , at least for my model which is not that old (Mx17 64-bit) , is going to be nothing more or less. I will have to look up drivers for each and every hardware piece,by tracking down the manufacturer (if they are still in business)-if that's even going to be possible, to keep it running, which will be a headache and a chore. I am worried you will not only stop support for windows seven like you always do with older platforms, but actually build in mandatory updates to it to help kill(win7) it by disabling devices trying to force a update (win10) that wont work on my machine and support Alienware features such as Alienware fx,command center,Nvidia updates, all hardware.going to 8 will apparently give me issues and only add a few more years anyway so that's no real answer.Trying to reinstall Xp on a old desktop after you stopped supporting it showed me that it automatically disabled certain key features-like sound.It required going online to install so I could not dodge that problem. Why ? I am worried there will not be anything but highly priced paid tec support from you to Possibly help resolve issues(money for only possible fix or to be told cannot fix.no support). Alienware tecs themselves seem to vary greatly in will windows 10 take to my machine or not. All the way from a complete no to a complete yes. I am surprised they and you are keeping me in the dark and making it so difficult to want to invest in a higher end machine which will only have a few years of support(this kind of thing is going to keep happening so why buy a new Alienware?), self support through a website that lists all the drivers from detecting them on the machine(Alienware does this for self help but will not for my windows seven machine-it's only been a few years). Any thoughts? will you offer free tec support for the remainder of the life of my machine or a self help center for the drivers and isssues? I have software and hardware paid support but apparently you and them are not interested in keeping a machine that cost thousands going after only a few years. pretty sad. I am hoping this prompts you to work with Alienware to help support windows seven machines which will not run with Alienware features with windows 10. so that they will-even if it's only a self support page and tec support becomes unavailable.
