Yes, this thread is a serious thread. I actually do still use 3.5' diskettes for certain things, and a couple pieces of software I still use install from floppies. Removing them from floppy and trying to place them on CD makes the software installers inoperable. There will never be a replacement for the software in question and no upgrade because the company is defunct. This device has worked on every version of Windows since Windows XP (and still is a working device on my other Windows installs), has never required a driver installation before, and works on Mac OS X and all distributions of Linux I have tried. However, there is no driver for the device installed in Windows 10. Any chance that was an oversight?
The device in question is a Sony USB-FDU USB device and my computer is a Dell Inspiron 560 with 8 Gbytes of RAM, etc. I have tried searching for a driver online and on the hard drive containing my Windows 8.1 installation. So far no results.
