Sept. 3 vs. Bowling Green
The Falcons aren’t as good as they were last year, and the new coaching staff will have to tweak some things, but they should provide a decent test for Ohio State’s new defensive starters. It’s a good preseason game to get warmed up, especially for the Buckeyes’ offense.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 41, Bowling Green 17
Sept. 10 vs. Tulsa
Sort of like the opener against Bowling Green, the Buckeye defense should be pushed a little bit by the Tulsa offense – but the Buckeye offense will do whatever it wants.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 48, Tulsa 20
Sept. 17 at Oklahoma
Season On. There are a ton of huge Week 1 games, but the Week 3 showdown in Oklahoma should be at a whole other level when it comes to conference bragging rights and the CFP discussion. This is the coming out party for the young Buckeyes – with a nasty performance from the defense – while J.T. Barrett will leave the greater Norman metropolitan area as a Heisman front-runner.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 27, Oklahoma 24
Oct. 1 vs. Rutgers
The Scarlet Knights will be better and stronger, and head coach Chris Ash certainly knows the OSU program, but none of that will matter. The Buckeyes will be riding high after the Oklahoma win, followed up by a week off.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 40, Rutgers 17
Oct. 8 vs. Indiana
Indiana doesn’t beat Ohio State, going 0-22-1 since 1988, and this year won’t be any different. The confidence will be building for the Buckeyes as they get a boost into the top three in all the polls with a sharp season that looks totally different than the first half of last season, and then …
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 45, Indiana 16
Oct. 15 at Wisconsin
The Badgers will come out roaring. They’ll have faced LSU, Michigan State and Michigan all away from Camp Randall, and they’ll have a week off to prepare. It’ll be a tough, focused effort that jumpstarts the Badger season in a tight battle that will come down to the final drive.
Preseason Prediction: Wisconsin 26, Ohio State 24
Oct. 22 at Penn State
Is Ohio State about to slide a bit after the loss to the Badgers? Nope. The team will rebound in a hurry with an outstanding day against the defense. The offense will sputter, but it’ll take advantage of four Penn State turnovers to come away with the rebound win.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 23, Penn State 10
Oct. 29 vs. Northwestern
The last time the two teams hooked up, back in 2013, Ohio State and Carlos Hyde took away Northwestern’s mojo in a 40-30 win with the whole world watching. The Wildcats won’t be a speed bump, but they won’t have the offense.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 31, Northwestern 13
Nov. 5 vs. Nebraska
It’s the fifth meeting all-time and the first since a 63-38 Ohio State pasting in 2012. Nebraska will be coming off a loss at Wisconsin, but it’ll bring the effort to make this fun for a half. Tommy Armstrong will outplay J.T. Barrett, but it won’t nearly be enough to get out with a win.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 35, Nebraska 24
Nov. 12 at Maryland
Maryland is 0-2 all-time against the Buckeyes with both losses coming in the last two seasons. The Terp defense gave up 101 points in the two defeats, but this year it’ll be a wee bit better. It won’t be enough to beat Ohio State, but it’ll be just good enough to keep this close into the fourth quarter.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 31, Maryland 17
Nov. 19 at Michigan State
If you want to see a team frothing at the mouth, this is the game. Ohio State will come out on fire, but Michigan State will slowly thump its way back into the contest to be right there with a chance to take it over late. And then J.T. Barrett will cement his spot in New York for the Heisman with a brilliant late drive to put away the thriller.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 23, Michigan State 20
Nov. 26 vs. Michigan
Even with the win over Michigan State, the Buckeyes have to win this to take the East and go on to the Big Ten title game. They’ll do it, but they’ll have to hang on for dear life with Michigan driving late with a chance for the win. The Wolverines will lose, while showing just how great this rivalry still is.
Preseason Prediction: Ohio State 23, Michigan 21
2016 Prediction: 11-1
2016 Big Ten Prediction: 8-1

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State University has reached a one-game football scheduling agreement with Tulane University that will have the two schools meeting at Ohio Stadium Sept. 22, 2018. The agreement completes Ohio State’s 2018 football schedule and provides Ohio State with completed schedules for the next four years, through the 2019 campaign.
The game will be the first on the gridiron between the Buckeyes and the Green Wave, two programs that have each been in existence for over 120 seasons. Tulane is a member of the American Athletic Conference’s west division, won by coach Tom Herman’s Houston Cougars last season.
'Tulane enhances and completes a non-conference schedule in 2018 that already includes Power 5 conference teams TCU and Oregon State,' Martin Jarmond, Deputy Director of Athletics, said. 'The Green Wave is part of a fine American Athletic Conference, which produced a New Year’s Day 6 bowl winner last year [Houston over Florida State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl], so its first trip to Ohio Stadium should be exciting for our students and fans.'
Tulane is under new leadership. Willie Fritz, 17-7 the past two seasons at Georgia Southern and who was a combined 137-62 record from assignments at Central Missouri and Sam Houston State, was named Green Wave head coach in December.
Ohio State is 28-3-1 all-time against teams currently in the American Athletic Conference with a 17-0-1 record since a loss in 1950 to SMU. Ohio State has played Central Florida, Navy and Cincinnati during coach Urban Meyer’s tenure and the Buckeyes host Tulsa Sept. 10 at Ohio Stadium.
